A&F ソイルを実際に使ってみた感想

A&F ソイルとは？

A&F ソイルとの出会いは、オンライン熱帯魚ショップのチャームでした。

そこで、「高機能性底床ソイル」というキャッチコピーで大々的に販売されたのを見て興味がわき、
色々調べていると、楽天の購買ランキングで5週連続ぐらいでTOP10入りしたことを知り、さらに気になったのでした。

このA&Fソイルに出会うまでは、ソイルでの飼育経験はなく、「ソイルっていうものがビーシュリンプには良い」ということは漠然と知っていたのですが
何がどう良いのか良く分からない状態でした。

そこで、ソイルについて色々と勉強してみることにしました。

ソイルとは？

ソイルの長所・短所を踏まえたうえで、A&Fソイルの特徴を紹介。

このA&Fソイルというのは、AbilityとFunctionの頭文字をとったソイルで、その名の通り、優れた能力・機能を備えており、
余計な効能をそぎ落とし、熱帯魚飼育に必要な要素を追求して産まれたソイルだそうです。
軟焼結製法という方法で作られていて、細かな穴を無数に持ち固くて崩れにくい多孔質構造になっているそうです。
その細かな穴が、バクテリアの定着を促し、安定した水質維持に役立つそうです。

・観賞魚・水草・エビにやさしい水をつくり、成長・繁殖に力を発揮。
・ｐＨ６.５±０.５で安定し、弱酸性の軟水を長期間維持。
・ｐＨの急激な低下が生じないため、頻繁な水換えが不要。
・高い通水性により水草の根にしっかり栄養を届ける。
・流木から出るアクや不純物、水の濁りを吸着し、透明度の高い水をつくる。

Function(機能）
・底面フィルターに適した性質、粒の大きさの多孔質ソイル。
・空孔の連続した多孔質の粒に酸素が十分供給されて、強力なろ過バクテリアの効果を発揮。
・軟焼結製法によりソイルの粒が長期間崩れにくい。
・海洋深層水に含まれるミネラル（マグネシウム、カルシウム、ナトリウムなど）を配合。
・ろ過バクテリアの活動を長期にわたって維持。
・観賞魚や水草の色を際立たせて綺麗に見せる黒色のソイル。
・水洗いが不要でそのままセットして使える。
・厳選された国産天然土壌を使用。

実際にA&Fソイルを購入してみました

ということで、早速A&Fソイル 8kを購入。

もっと、ごつごつざらざらしているのかと思っていたのですが、結構滑らかです。また、指先で押しても簡単にはつぶれないぐらい、固くできていました。

水槽に入れると、沈まないものが結構ありました。他のソイルを使ったことがないのでこれがソイル一般でおきることなのかよく分からないのですが、特徴である多数の細かい穴に空気が入り込んで浮いているのでと思います。

2009年5月23日
ベアタンクからA&Fソイルに切り替えてから、約3ヶ月がたちました。
水質は安定しており、ビーシュリンプが☆になることもないです。
また、pHは徐々に下がってきており、現在は5ぐらいを推移しています。
亜硝酸値も常に0です。

まだ3ヶ月なので、ソイルがつぶれる、といった状況にもなっていません。
